*Edited to 20 on 7/6/09. Considering I read a book a week I have not focused on this list as much as possible. If I still want to read 15 more I better get with it. Only 4ish months to go and I start a new job in August.
So here is a list of 100 of the greatest novels of all time. Notice I didn't say THE greatest I said 100 OF the greatest. I plan on digging right in. I bolded the ones I have read and actually remember. Supposedly the average American has read 6 of the 100. I am proud and happy to ring in with 15. I hope to have read 15 more of them by the end of the year. I read about a book a week, but I read religious books, popcorn fiction, books on parenting, etc. also so I don't know that I will get in more than 15. Let me know how many you have read.

I love the classics and counted a total of 24. I think if we read all the Harry Potters it should count more. Don't you. You have to read Gone with the Wind. I loved it and it has several differences from the movie so its worth the read. Jane Erye is a good romance, and Crime and Punishment is super creepy. Happy reading.

Okay- so Pride and Prejudice is a MUST read! When I traveled Europe I read it on trains and feel in love with Jane Austen novels! We even saw her place in Bath! I am a DORK..don't care. Anyway- our little girl's name will be Darcy..and it is the main male character's last name. Rob is always joking to me about Mr. Darcy and then we thought that is a cute girl name...so there you have it!:) Impresseed with your goal! Love to read your blog...you are a great mamma!:) lov les
I remember that we were to read The Great Gatsby, and maybe a few others under the direction of Ms. Dr. Mills. But I don't remember it. So it must be read again. Sigh. I know that I have seen the movie with Heather, though. I saw Sense and Sensibility with at a MOPS retreat for the first time, and I LOVED it. I will get right on Pride and Prejudice, Les. Darcy is a DARLING name. And how fun that it is from your fave book and you have such a charming travel story to go with it.
